Fritz Keck is a local artist best known for his "Once Upon a Time" catalog of distinctive Pittsburgh scenes. The puddling mill at Homestead Steel Works was used to convert pig iron to wrought iron with the use of a reverberating furnace known as an open hearth furnace.
