Fritz Keck is a local artist best known for his "Once Upon a Time" catalog of distinctive scenes. The scene depicted here is arguably the most popular meeting place in downtown Pittsburgh, the Kaufmann's clock at Fifth Avenue and Smithfield Street (1940). Installed in 1887, it continues as the "Meet me under the clock" meeting place for Pittsburghers.
