J&L Eliza Works - 1961 | Fritz Keck
Fritz Keck is a local artist best known for his "Once Upon a Time" catalog of distinctive Pittsburgh scenes. The setting depicted is the Jones & Laughlin (J&L) Steel mill located on the Monongahela River by Second Avenue and the Parkway East. At one time, it employed 5,000 people but was closed in 1977 and demolished in the mid-1980s.
