Spring Creek Fishing with John Hayes

Join us as we travel via motor coach to "Fisherman's Paradise" on Spring Creek, near State College. The daylong event includes spin fishing tips, fly fishing instruction and more time on the water. You can also look forward to a workshop from the state Fish and Boat Commission's new Youth and Women's Program Director, Amidea Daniel, loaner fly fishing gear, hands on instruction by Trout Unlimited fishing coaches and a buy-your-own dinner.

Free PGU event parking will be provided at the West General Robinson Street Garage.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Fishing on Spring Creek is catch-and-release.
Wading is not permitted in Fisherman's Paradise project waters, but it's OK above and below.
What to bring: Valid Pa fishing license and trout permit.
• For fly fishing: 5-8 weight rod and line, 150 yards backing, 9-foot 2x or 3x leaders, tippet material in various weights, split shot, No. 10-16 hooks, floats. Spinners or live baits in a container appropriate for a long bus ride.
Landing net, polarized sunglasses, clippers, cell phone, camera, rain gear, jacket, hat, change of clothing. Be prepared for all likely weather conditions.
Lunch, water, no alcohol please.
Money for a buy-your-own dinner at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and bus driver tip.
